So for now I'm just booting generic and all is good. Thufir 1 13 I have the same problem audio playback very quiet on my Thinkpad X Most issues come from familh channels. If I un-mute the main volume while one set of headphones are plugged in, plugging in a second set of headphones does not automatically mute the main volume. Checking this forum post and this guideI've managed to get a configuration that seems to work fine. No further action was needed on my part. It is better than having no sound whatsoever though. You have to restart the mixer you use, so start as user kmix or gmix, inte on what windowmanager you use.
